about

This song is sort of the band's tribute to Rage Against the Machine. Listen closely and you'll hear a couple guitar riffs lifted out of two different Rage songs and smashed together. It's a bit out of step with the rest of the album, but it's a hell of a lot of fun to play.

lyrics

When what you wanted is not what you need
When all the things that could carry you there
Leave you choking, down on your knees
When what you came for is not why you stay
When the walls close in and you're not sure
If you should stick around or break away

Tell me friend, what are you running from
You were so sure of yourself--what have you become

When all you stand for is an empty shell
When all the things you thought you believed
Were put inside your head by someone else
When absolution is a dirty word
Your media is no longer social, your screams all go unheard

Tell me friend, what are you running from
You were so full of yourself, but what have you become

[The lies you told yourself
Are as thick as New Orleans in June
The pretension, the self-control, the need
To be the center of every room
What will it take to chip away
At your self-sufficient veneer
No matter how far you think you are
Grace is always near]

Tell me friend, what are you running from
You were so high on yourself, but now you're under the gun
Tell me again what it was you came for
